Kila is a traditional Irish music band created in Dublin in 1987. The band was created more specifically in an institute in Dublin by Eoin Dillon with the Irish bagpipe, Colm Mac Con Iomaire as violinist, Rossa or Snodaigh as Pied Piper, Rónán or Snodaigh at Bodhrán, Karl Odlum as bassist and Dave Odlum as guitarist.
Kila is a band that has undergone various training changes throughout its trajectory. In 1988 Colm O ‘ Snodaigh joing the band for the first festival of Kila in Germany. In 1991 Colm Mac Con Iomaire and Dave Odlum leave the band to devote themselves fully to the Irish rock group “The Frames“. In that same year, Dee Armstrong joined the band replacing Colm Mac Con Iomaire. Dave Odlum is also replaced by Eoin O’Brien.
The band’s first performance was at the Baggott Inn in Dublin, which was attended by three people. The first concert of the group was taken to Cabó in Dublin, more specifically at Baggott Inn, and in which only fuerton three people. In the year 2007 they played in the WOMAD of Las Palmas of Gran Canaria, reaping great success in Spain. In 2008 they perform in Andalusia for the first time, in their tour presentation of their latest album “Gambler’s Ballet “.
