The Fleadh Cheoil is an Irish music contest conducted by Comhalters Ceoltóirí Éireann (CCÉ), a non-profit group. The 2018 edition will take place between August 12th and 19th.
In August, more than 400 000 people will visit Ennis (County of Clare) to attend the Fleadh Cheoil na HÉireann, the most important traditional music meeting of the Celtic calendar. Basically a huge competition of traditional music, the first Fleadh was held in Mullingar in 1951, but today has grown to reach epic dimensions and world class quality.
Fleadh Cheoil includes concerts, parades and sessions where thousands of spectators will enjoy the sound of the violin, bagpipe and Irish flute, as well as dances and traditional Irish songs. Come and move the skeleton in the Fleadh Ceoil na HÉireann 2018, it’s just impossible to sit still!
