An Danzza

An Danzza is a project of neo-folk, medieval and fantasy music with five discs behind them. His music is a mixture of sounds that takes the listener to the depths of the forest, full of myths, echoes of other worlds and evocations of ancient gods. The project, led by the composer Andrés Campuzano, has just released his fifth album ‘ Whispers of the Forest ‘, with which he has obtained the best reviews in the specialized media. His repertoire includes themes of his own, but also about songs of the Castilian tradition, Celtic and Nordic that adapts to his peculiar style. An Danzza was born in 2004 as an independent study project to give way to all the musical concerns of the Madrid-based composer Andrés Campuzano. In 2010 he autoedited his first album, ‘ Last Autum Tears ‘, followed by ‘ Song of the Rushes ‘ (2011), ‘ Tierra de Andanzas ‘ (2013), ‘ Scintilla ‘ (2014) and ‘ whispers of the Forest ‘ (2016). For all of them it has had collaborations of great artists from all over the world, but it has been since the publication of the fifth album when it has taken the jump to the scenarios. The current training includes instruments such as davul, Whistles, Darbuka, Tamboril, guitar, keyboard, oboe, bagpipes, lute, bouzouki, female voice and chorus.

We invite you to listen to his single “Hekate ” belonging to his latest album “Whispers of the Forest ” (2016) where you can see an excellent sound quality and the enormous potential of this band.

Lyrics (Haydée Mariñoso)

The wind brings voices (ah)
telling an old and sad tale (ah)
about the most lovely lady
she was the perfect wife
always decent, always polite
a doll in the wrong hands
she burns (inside)
she calls (his name)
Some furtive sights in the night (ah)
When she met that other man
Her world changed at all
Condemned to a life without love
she chose to love him from the afterlife
she burns (inside)
she calls (his name)
Broken by time, eaten by pain (ah)
Shattered by a broken heart
There was no way
Trapped by a senseless life
The dark looked light
There is still a dark tower
It’s said the place is cursed
Since that lady jumped from the top
She still whispers his name
she burns (inside)
she calls (his name)
(Shattered by a broken heart
There was no way
Trapped by a senseless life
The dark looked light)
